Job Description:
Our art enrichment program has classes for children ages 5-18 and varies in number each day.
An ideal candidate must be able to handle art projects from start to finish, maintain discipline in the classroom,
interact with parents and caregivers at pick up, maintain material setup, cleanup and supplies.
Organize the class projects with necessary supplies prior to the classroom closing for the following day. This position requires a lot of moving around checking student work, setup and cleanup.
We are seeking a passionate students enrolled in Cypress College, Cal State fullerton, or Cal State long beach Visual art program who are familiar in art techniques, watercolor, sketching. We are willing to train if knowledge of the arts is ingrained or is a hobby and the candidate is pursuing a college education.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement art lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
Instruct students on various art techniques and mediums.
Foster a creative and inclusive learning environment for students of all abilities and levels.
Provide constructive feedback to students on their artwork and facilitate completion in a positive manner.
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Art Education (Master's welcome too.
Comfortable teaching for elementary, middle, and high school art.
Minimum of 6 months of tutoring or teaching experience and good art skills.
Proficiency in various traditional art media (drawing, sketching, painting, sculpture, etc.)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop creative drawing lessons.
Knowledge of color theory and contemporary art trends.
Able to command a class full of students, manage tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of handling unique situations, First aid awareness, sensitive to kids requests.
Support students in developing their personal artistic style, creative progression and foundational to advanced levels.
Elements and Principles of art requirements for various art levels.
Ability to effectively select and organize students' work.
Skill in guiding the individualized creative journey of advanced students.
Applicants require the following:
Must be 18 years or older with a personality aligned to our vision.
Willing to submit to a background check.
Availability for posted schedule is a must weekdays and Saturday.
Candidates applying must have some experience and patience working with kids, pursuing a degree in education/Studio Art/Art history/Science.
Our current candidates have a passion for drawing, painting, understand working with young kids, patient, hands on with art supplies, and are outgoing.

Candidates withing 20 mins of driving distance preferred (Cypress, La Palma, Lakewood, Norwalk, Artesia, Cerritos, Long Beach).
